Handbook-checked symbolBYD ATTO 3 EVO
Outside charging/discharging, this warns about the DC module and low-voltage battery module. During charging it indicates a charging-system failure; while moving it indicates a DC or low-voltage-system problem.

Handbook-checked symbolBYD SEAL
This indicates low state of charge in the high-voltage traction battery, not a battery-system fault. The battery chapter notes that acceleration performance can decline at low charge. It does not give a universal percentage threshold for this warning light.

Handbook-checked symbolBYD SEALION 7
This is the low-charge warning for the traction battery, separate from a battery fault or overheating warning. At low charge, acceleration can decline and V2L becomes unavailable.

Handbook-checked symbolBYD ATTO 3
This indicates a monitored powertrain fault if it remains on with ignition or appears while driving. The symbol alone does not identify the failed component.

Start with the question: which notification are you expecting? Allowing notifications on your phone permits an app to display alerts; it does not create a new vehicle feature. A missing banner, an alert that arrived silently and an event that the BYD app never generated are three different problems. This guide checks the phone side without promising an unlocked-car, alarm or charging-complete alert for every BYD.

What battery paperwork matters?
BYD advertises a minimum 90% battery State of Health for Approved Used vehicles. Ask for the vehicle-specific result, its date and an explanation of the test. Do not treat the dashboard's current charge percentage or remaining-range estimate as that battery-health report. The programme threshold is not a promise of a particular real-world range or automatic battery replacement.

Does a feature listing confirm wired and wireless operation on my car?
No. BYD UK lists CarPlay and Android Auto for ATTO 3, but that listing alone does not establish every wired/wireless combination on every installed software version. Keep a connection method that you or other owners have confirmed for the matching build. Before troubleshooting another method, check the actual connection choices in the car and its supplied instructions; wireless phone charging is not wireless projection.

Bluetooth calls work. Why is the projection screen still missing?
Ordinary Bluetooth calls and phone projection are separate states. In the cited edition, select the CarPlay or Android Auto icon from the vehicle application screen and follow its prompts; a paired-call entry alone is not the completed projection setup. If USB is being used, charging the phone alone does not prove that the data path is working. Compare the intended mode and save the exact screen message before deleting working pairings.

Before leaving the vehicle
• Choose a secure, dry and ventilated place with safe access if assistance is later required. • Remove food, valuables and equipment that may continue drawing power from a vehicle socket. • Set the traction battery within the storage range stated in the current ATTO 3 EVO manual. • Check all tyre pressures cold and inspect for damage or a slow puncture. • Turn off unnecessary charging schedules, repeated remote-climate routines and accessories. • Close every opening, lock normally and store both authorised keys securely away from the vehicle.

What is Dynamic range?
Dynamic uses available battery energy and current average energy consumption to estimate remaining distance. The handbook says the figure after a full charge can vary with energy consumed on the previous drive. Air conditioning, driving mode and driving habits also affect the displayed estimate.

Owner answerBYD DOLPHIN
Start with the supported method
• Park safely and confirm the phone and DOLPHIN software are current. • For a wired connection, use the correct data-capable USB port and a known-good cable; a charge-only cable cannot carry projection data. • Unlock the phone and accept the CarPlay or Android Auto permissions on both screens. • Remove the old vehicle entry from the phone and the old phone entry from the car, then pair once again.

Does a feature listing confirm wired and wireless operation on my car?
No. BYD UK lists CarPlay and Android Auto for DOLPHIN SURF, but that listing alone does not establish every wired/wireless combination on every installed software version. Keep a connection method that you or other owners have confirmed for the matching build. Before troubleshooting another method, check the actual connection choices in the car and its supplied instructions; wireless phone charging is not wireless projection.

Common reasons for variation
The linked SURF handbook explicitly says regenerative braking is weaker when the high-voltage battery charge is high. It also describes an adjustable energy-recovery setting. Check the charge level and your selected setting while parked, rather than assuming that a change means a brake fault. Neither point explains away a warning, unusual pedal feel or reduced stopping performance.

Before another official attempt
• Before starting, read the car’s current update instructions and provide sufficient battery charge, time and a normal vehicle mobile-data connection. Do not invent a battery percentage or time limit from another model’s guide. • Park in a safe place and select P. The SURF handbook says charging and discharging are unavailable during the update; complete any charging beforehand using its normal instructions. • Do not interrupt an active installation or add third-party OBD equipment before or during it. Do not plan to drive or use normal vehicle functions while installation is underway. • After completion, allow normal system start-up and read the full version and update description. If the update reports failure, use only the official retry route when its conditions are satisfied; if it fails again, stop retrying and contact BYD.

Owner answerBYD SEAL
Build a clean test
• Park the SEAL, power it on and confirm the phone is unlocked with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi available where the chosen connection requires them. • Restart the phone and centre display normally. • For USB testing, use a known data-capable cable and the vehicle data port, not a charge-only socket. • Remove the SEAL from the phone’s CarPlay or Android Auto list and remove the phone from the vehicle device list. • Pair again, accepting projection, contacts, notifications and microphone prompts needed for the feature. • Test navigation audio, music and one safe stationary call, then confirm sound returns to the expected source. • If a second compatible phone works, review the first phone’s operating system, restrictions, VPN and app permissions.

What does Dynamic range mean?
Dynamic estimates remaining distance from available battery energy and current average energy consumption. The handbook explains that the number after a full charge can change with energy used on the previous drive. Air conditioning, the selected driving mode and driving habits also affect the estimate.
