BYD SEAL completely unresponsive: safe low-voltage checks
If your original SEAL has no normal lock or power response after parking, try the handbook’s door-handle wake-up control with the authorised key. Press and hold the driver-door microswitch continuously to activate the low-voltage battery as described in EN-250305.

- Try the normal key or supplied spare away from the phone and other electronics.
- Check whether lights, locks or a display respond.
- If the car and fitted control match the cited handbook, make this normal wake-up attempt: Press and hold the driver-door microswitch continuously to activate the low-voltage battery as described in EN-250305. Safety note: Smoke, heat, flood/collision damage or damaged electrical parts require keeping clear and getting help. Guessed booster connections, donor-car methods or battery-disconnection resets can cause injury or vehicle damage; leave electrical recovery to exact-model professional guidance.
- If it wakes, read any warning and follow its normal starting instructions.
- If it remains unresponsive or goes dark again, contact roadside assistance.
Key failure or no vehicle power?
A displayed key warning with working lights/screens points to a different check from a completely dark car. The last traction-battery percentage does not measure the low-voltage supply.
After wake-up or recovery
After that activation, the SEAL handbook says to power on immediately to charge the low-voltage battery and recommends more than one hour. It locates the battery under the left rear seat but gives separate recovery connection points; that location is not a seat-removal instruction. It prohibits a fuel-vehicle donor and requires suitable professional charging equipment.
If it happens again
Ask for the low-voltage battery and its charging system to be tested and the result recorded. Confirm normal locking, charging and displays after recovery; a recurring power loss needs a cause, not repeated wake-ups.
If that did not work
Give BYD Assistance the response pattern and request assessment of the low-voltage supply and charging system. Use the key guide if it unlocks and shows a recognition error. For trapped people or a dangerous location, get emergency/roadside help before checking controls.
What to note down for support: Parking duration, lights/locks/screens that responded, wake-up result, last battery level and recent charging, accessories or software activity help the technician.
