BYD app not working UK

If your BYD app isn’t working in the UK, it’s usually due to an app glitch, a freeze in the infotainment system, or a waiting cloud service activation.

Here are a few things you can try, in this order:

First, try a hard reset of your car’s screen. Sometimes the car just loses its 4G connection to the BYD server. To do this, get in the car, turn it on, then press and hold the volume knob on the middle console for about 3 seconds until the big screen turns off. Do this one more time to make sure everything really restarts. Once the screen comes back on, try restarting your phone app and refreshing it.

Next, clear your app’s cache and log back in. If the app keeps crashing or freezing, it might be because of too much stored data. Go to your phone’s settings, find the BYD app (it’s usually under ‘Apps’ or ‘App Info’). Open ‘Storage’ and pick ‘Clear Data’ or ‘Clear Cache’. Reset network settings on your phone. Then open the app again, log back in, and see if it connects.

Finally, check if your cloud services are activated. If you just got the car, it might not be linked to your email in BYD’s system yet. Make sure you’re using the exact email address you gave your dealership when you bought or leased the car. For new and used car buyers, it usually takes BYD’s tech team about 2 to 7 days to link your car’s VIN to your account. If it’s been longer than that, you’ll need to get in touch with your dealer or call BYD UK Customer Service (or the general European helpline at 00800 10203000) and ask them to speed up the activation through their tech department.
