The honest short answer
Charging time depends on how much energy is needed and the lower of the car’s acceptance limit and the charger’s available power. Temperature, battery conditioning, shared charging power and the slowing charge rate near full also matter.
A useful home-charging estimate
Hours ≈ energy to add (kWh) ÷ power reaching the car (kW). This is a planning estimate, not a promise. Allow for losses and remember that a nominal 7 kW charger may not deliver exactly that throughout every session.
Rapid charging is a curve
A DC charger’s headline power is only its ceiling. The vehicle may briefly approach its own peak under suitable conditions, then reduce power as the battery fills. Compare a published percentage window—such as 10% to 80%—rather than dividing the whole battery by peak power.
