BYD app notifications not showing? iPhone and Android checks

If a BYD notification is missing or silent, check the app’s notification permission and the phone’s notification history first. A received silent alert needs a different setting from an event the app never generated; permission alone does not add a new vehicle alert.

  1. Identify the expected alert and whether it has worked on this account before.
  2. On current iPhone software, open Settings → Apps → BYD → Notifications and check Allow Notifications, alert locations and sound. If Notifications is absent, the app may not be able to send them. Safety note: Check locking on the car and charging on the vehicle and charger. An expected phone notification can be delayed or absent, so it should not be your only confirmation of an essential action.
  3. Check iPhone Notification Centre, Focus, silence settings and any notification summary that could have delayed or hidden it.
  4. On Android, open Settings → Notifications → App notifications → BYD and check permission, available categories, sound and banners. Manufacturer labels vary.
  5. Check the Android notification shade and notification history if offered.
  6. Open BYD and check the account, vehicle and current status.

Visible but silent?

Sound and display permissions are separate. On Android, an individual category can be Silent even when app notifications are permitted. Choose the appearance you want without exposing personal lock-screen previews unnecessarily.

No alert was generated

Confirm that BYD supports that exact alert for your car/account/app version. Permission settings do not establish an unlocked-car reminder or every other model’s function. An empty history alone does not diagnose a server failure.

If that did not work

If the main app is stale, use its connection checks. For a supported alert that repeatedly fails while status is current, send BYD the exact alert type, event time, phone/OS/app versions, permission screenshots and whether history received it. Reinstalling or unlinking the car is not the first check for a hidden banner.
