Owner answerBYD SEALION 7
Bluetooth calls work. Why is the projection screen still missing?
Ordinary Bluetooth calls and phone projection are separate states. In the cited edition, select the CarPlay or Android Auto icon from the vehicle application screen and follow its prompts; a paired-call entry alone is not the completed projection setup. If USB is being used, charging the phone alone does not prove that the data path is working. Compare the intended mode and save the exact screen message before deleting working pairings.

Before connecting anything
• Confirm V2L support in the owner manual or with an authorised BYD retailer using the VIN. • Use the correct, undamaged V2L adapter intended for the vehicle and UK electrical system. • Check the vehicle charge level and preserve enough range for the next journey. • Make sure the appliance is switched off before connecting it. • Keep the adapter, plug, connections and charge port dry, clean and away from traffic or anything that could crush the cable.

The high-voltage battery fault warning normally goes out after ignition self-check. Persistent or driving-time illumination indicates a monitored system failure, not merely low charge.

Check the simple interference first
• Keep a working physical key available while checking another access method. Make checks while parked in a safe place. • For the NFC card, remove metal covers or other items between the card and reader. Hold the authorised card close to the NFC mark shown in your own DOLPHIN handbook; do not put it on an active wireless charging pad. • For a phone NFC key, first confirm that both your exact vehicle and phone or wearable support the feature and that activation completed. Merely installing the BYD app or owning an NFC phone is not enough. • Identify whether you are using a physical card, a phone wallet NFC key or an app-based Bluetooth key. Follow the matching instructions rather than treating a failure in one method as a fault in all three.

Before storage
• Park securely on a suitable surface with ventilation and recovery access. • Use the manual-recommended traction-battery storage range; do not assume maximum charge is best. • Measure tyre pressures cold and inspect every tyre for damage or slow loss. • Remove loads and unplug accessories from cabin and luggage-area sockets. • Cancel unnecessary climate, charging and departure schedules. • Close every opening, lock normally and store both keys securely away.

Before retrying a failed update
• Park safely on level ground and select P. • Confirm that all doors, the bonnet and the boot are fully closed. • Check that the vehicle has a stable mobile-data connection. • Check the battery requirement shown by the vehicle for that exact update. Do not assume a percentage from another model, market or release applies. • Remove any third-party device connected to the OBD port before trying again. • Do not connect or disconnect a charger while the update is in progress; BYD manuals state that the vehicle cannot be charged or discharged during an update.
