BYD voice commands: practical UK owner guide
Wake the BYD assistant with “Hi, BYD”, its steering-wheel button or its display icon, then wait for the listening indication. Try a short command for a function your car has; the examples below are documented for the SEAL RHD handbook, PDF 153–154.

- While parked, wait for infotainment startup to finish.
- Wake the assistant using one of the supported controls. Safety note: Test setup and optional cabin commands while parked, keeping the vehicle’s normal controls available. Wait until an OTA installation has finished before any ordinary display restart.
- Wait for its listening indication.
- Try a short instruction such as “Play music” and check the response.
Commands to try on the documented SEAL setup
“Go home” needs a home or shortcut location saved. “Make a call” needs a compatible Bluetooth-connected phone and contact permission. The handbook also gives “Set the temperature to 23 degrees” and “Turn on the seat ventilation for the driver”, where that equipment is fitted. For DAB, use wording offered by your own assistant; the cited SEAL handbook does not give “Start DAB+”.
If one command is ignored
If the steering-wheel button opens listening but the wake phrase does not, check the selected language and wake-word setting. If listening works but one command fails, check the fitted feature and try the wording shown by your car. Available commands vary with equipment, language and software; one rejected phrase is not a reason to reset the car.
If that did not work
If the assistant will not listen or respond to a supported command, tell BYD which wake methods work, the selected language, vehicle software and exact response. For calls, check phone pairing and permission first.
