BYD Apple CarPlay not connecting? iPhone checks that make sense
For wired CarPlay, try the car’s data USB port with a direct compatible data cable, unlock the iPhone and accept its prompts. Check Siri is enabled; for wireless CarPlay, check Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Auto-Join for the CarPlay network.

- Park and switch the car fully on.
- For wired use, try a known-good compatible data cable in the supported data port, preferably without an adapter chain.
- Unlock the iPhone and accept the CarPlay or accessory prompt.
- Enable Siri.
- For wireless use, switch Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on and check Auto-Join for the CarPlay network.
- If Screen Time restrictions are enabled, allow CarPlay under its permitted apps/features.
- Restart the iPhone and car normally, then check for stable iOS and matching BYD updates.
If you need to pair again
Apple’s Settings → General → CarPlay → your car → Forget This Car removes that phone connection so you can set it up again. Keep the original working/failed conditions first. This is different from resetting the whole vehicle.
Why charging can still work
Some USB-C-to-Lightning adapter, cable and vehicle combinations disrupt CarPlay while allowing power. Compare a direct suitable data cable before replacing equipment. Use only the connection methods supported by your exact BYD.
If that did not work
If another compatible iPhone works, focus on your phone and cable with Apple support. If every tested iPhone fails, ask BYD to check whether wired, wireless or both connections fail for the fitted system.
What to note down for support: Phone/iOS, vehicle software, cable or adapter and the exact prompt help support. Keep owner-confirmed workarounds tied to the setup where they worked.
