The EN-250305 handbook requires at least 15% vehicle charge, the alarm disarmed and a clean, dry, undamaged port and adapter. Connect the adapter fully; where its socket has the described switch, pressing it gives a steady red indicator. Discharge information appears on the cluster. To stop, disconnect the load, unlock the vehicle and remove the adapter, then close the cap and port door.

A phone charging over USB does not prove its data connection works. A successful cable test does not confirm wireless compatibility. If the map remains but music stops, treat that as an audio/app issue, especially after a call. A dropout alone is not evidence that you need a wireless adapter or replacement infotainment hardware.

BYD’s corporate site says it had cumulatively sold more than 16.5 million new-energy vehicles by the end of May 2026. That is a global figure across a wide model range, not a statement about any one UK car. The useful takeaway is context: a large global vehicle base can explain why a sales headline exists, but it cannot verify a feature, software version, charging capability or aftersales decision for your exact vehicle.
