01 · SMART-KEY BATTERY

Key battery exhausted?

This sequence addresses the smart-key battery, not a discharged vehicle 12V battery. Open the source illustration to locate the exact recognition area.

  1. Unlock with the mechanical key.
  2. Press the brake pedal and START button. The key warning light comes on and a beep sounds.
  3. Within 30 seconds of that beep, hold the smart key close to the power-off mode identification shown in the handbook illustration. A second beep sounds and the warning goes out.
  4. Start within five seconds of the second beep.

Have the smart-key battery replaced by a BYD authorised dealer or service provider as soon as possible. Nearby radio equipment can interfere with recognition.

02 · PROFESSIONAL RECOVERY

Show the recovery operator.

Contact a BYD authorised dealer, professional towing service or roadside-assistance organisation when the vehicle needs towing.

The handbook recommends flatbed transport. Lifting only the front or rear wheels may damage high-voltage components.

Do not arrange towing using ropes or chains alone. Read the full handbook section with the recovery operator, including securing, tow-eye conditions and any exceptions.
