Why the assistance can feel unexpected
Lane, sign and attention systems respond to road markings, cameras, signs and the vehicle’s software. Narrow lanes, temporary markings, roadside signs or obscured sensors can produce behaviour that feels intrusive or inaccurate.
Before changing a setting
- Clean the relevant cameras and sensors
- Check the exact alert shown on the display
- Read the assistance-system section of the manual
- Review controls only while safely parked
The driver remains responsible
Do not rely on sign recognition as the legal speed limit and do not assume a muted warning means a system is unavailable. Settings and their persistence can change by software version. If steering assistance behaves unpredictably, stop using the affected function where safe and ask an authorised repairer to inspect it.
