A sales headline is only one signal
Global registration or delivery rankings can show the scale and direction of a manufacturer, but they do not tell a UK owner whether a particular vehicle, workshop or part is well supported.
Ask what the number includes
- Battery-electric vehicles only, or plug-in hybrids as well?
- Wholesale deliveries or customer registrations?
- A single quarter, calendar year or rolling period?
- Worldwide totals or a specific market?
Rankings built from different definitions should not be presented as though they measure the same thing.
What matters more to a UK owner
Check the current UK model range, warranty terms, local servicing capacity, parts availability, software support and the experience of the supplying dealer. Global scale can provide context, but it does not replace those practical checks.
