BYD UK warranty: how to check your cover
How UK BYD owners can check the warranty cover that applies to their exact car, version and delivery date.

The right way to check BYD cover is to start with your exact UK vehicle, delivery date, mileage and current warranty document. BYD UK publishes general warranty information, but the terms, limits and exclusions that apply can differ by model and version.
- Identify the exact model, version, delivery date, current mileage and VIN before asking about cover.
- Open BYD UKs current warranty information, then select the vehicle type and year where the official page provides that option.
- Compare the result with your original warranty paperwork and service history, especially if ownership has changed or a component has a separate term.
- If you need a decision on a repair, contact an authorised BYD retailer with the vehicle details and the fault description rather than relying on a general online summary.
BYD UK warranty policy and maintenance — official source
Open sourceWhy do official battery-mileage figures differ, and what do I send for a claim?
BYD’s UK general warranty page still displays an older battery-mileage figure. Its dated 15 January 2026 UK-media announcement extends Blade Battery cover to eight years or 250,000km, with at least 70% State of Health, for new and existing eligible cars in the UK. The notice excludes mobility-service use, special fleet agreements and ETP3; it is not an unconditional promise that every repair is covered. Ask for the terms applying to your exact vehicle and use case. For a repair decision, save the current mileage, delivery date, fault onset, warnings, service record and relevant prior work. Request a written diagnosis, applicable warranty clause, approval status and any diagnostic charge before authorising work. If declined, ask for the reason and evidence in writing and use the official case route. Do not clear fault evidence or delay an unsafe-car response while discussing payment.

First useful check
Record the exact model/generation/full version or dated vehicle/service documents while parked; identify no-offer, failed installation and unresolved fault separately.
Read the result
Matched evidence explains the applicable release, equipment or next service/claim stage without inventing availability or a guaranteed repair.
Stop or change approach: No forced firmware, factory reset, activeOTA interruption, unsafe test drive or unapproved repair; preserve fault evidence and obtain assistance for safety warnings.
Prepare a useful record
Exact vehicle/full build or dated specification, existing owner observation, fault message/timeline, mileage and written provider response. Keep VIN and ownership records private.
Keep registration, VIN, account numbers and personal addresses out of this note. Nothing typed here is sent to us or saved automatically. Copy it before leaving the page.
Evidence and answer standard
Full body and primary reference reviewed; owner-confirmed EU/UK equivalence and observations preserved. Practical evidence/next-step clarification; BYD images unchanged.. The date records an evidence review, not a physical test of your car. A forum report can identify a question; it cannot establish a universal repair.
