SEALION 7 tyre-pressure warning: what to check
Safe cold-pressure, puncture, sensor and tyre-damage checks for a BYD SEALION 7.

Safe cold-pressure, puncture, sensor and tyre-damage checks for a BYD SEALION 7.
- Park safely and let the tyres cool.
- Read the required cold pressures from the vehicle label or exact owner manual.
- Measure every tyre with the same dependable gauge and adjust only to the stated cold values.
- Inspect tread, sidewalls, valves and wheels for a nail, cut, bulge, cracking or impact damage.
- Power the car on and note whether it shows one low value, a missing value or a general system warning.
- Drive only as the manual requires for readings to update, then stop and compare again.
Check all four tyres
• Park safely and let the tyres cool. • Read the required cold pressures from the vehicle label or exact owner manual. • Measure every tyre with the same dependable gauge and adjust only to the stated cold values. • Inspect tread, sidewalls, valves and wheels for a nail, cut, bulge, cracking or impact damage. • Power the car on and note whether it shows one low value, a missing value or a general system warning. • Drive only as the manual requires for readings to update, then stop and compare again.
Interpret the result
• One tyre falls again: arrange a professional leak check rather than repeatedly inflating it. • Pressure is correct but one reading is absent: the sensor or monitoring system may need diagnosis. • Several readings changed in colder weather: correct them cold and continue monitoring. • Vibration or unstable handling is present: stop and inspect rather than relying only on the display.
A bulge, exposed cord, severe cut, rapidly falling pressure or damaged wheel means the car should remain stopped for tyre service or recovery.
What if the tyre-pressure warning stays on?
Park safely and record the complete warning, which wheel is identified, the displayed pressure and temperature, and whether the light first flashed. The SEALION 7 handbook distinguishes a steady light with a yellow pressure value from a yellow temperature value: they indicate low pressure and high tyre temperature respectively. It also distinguishes a rapidly flashing light with a red pressure value, which indicates rapid air loss. Do not assume that a persistent light only needs clearing. Check the actual tyres and the correct specification for your exact vehicle; arrange appropriate tyre or BYD inspection for an unresolved warning. If pressure is abnormal while driving, avoid abrupt braking or sharp steering, slow down and stop safely as soon as possible. A suspected damaged or flat tyre is a reason to stop, not to wait for another display update.
What if the warning flashes and then stays on with No Signal or Please check TPMS?
In the reviewed SEALION 7 handbook, this sequence and these messages are associated with the monitoring system rather than being proof that adding air will solve the problem. A missing reading does not prove the tyre is correctly inflated. Record the exact message and check the tyre condition and pressure safely. The handbook directs a persistent alarm to a BYD authorised dealer or service provider. Do not dismantle a sensor, disable the warning or use another model’s reset sequence. Monitoring-module installation and replacement belong with appropriately qualified technicians.
Can I keep driving until the tyre display updates?
Do not use the display’s ability to update as permission to drive. The handbook warns that monitoring information is transmitted at intervals and may not immediately show a sudden loss of pressure. It says not to drive when tyre pressure does not meet the manufacturer’s requirements, and to stop immediately if tyre damage is suspected rather than waiting for an alarm. If a tyre is flat, damaged or losing pressure rapidly, obtain suitable assistance. For a tyre-temperature warning, the handbook says to stop and wait for the tyre to cool before further driving; that does not cancel a separate pressure, damage or monitoring fault.
