SEALION 7 says “charging complete” at a low battery level
If SEALION 7 says charging is complete below the level you expected, check which device ended the session and what target it was following. A wallbox top-up amount, a saved vehicle limit and a pause in smart charging can look similar from the battery percentage alone.

- Read the car’s battery percentage and charging message.
- Check whether the charger is paused, still delivering power or has ended the session. Safety note: If a plug is damaged, unusually hot, smells burnt or shows smoke or arcing, stop using it and keep clear. Repeated electrical trips need the installer; reconnecting can worsen an electrical fault.
- Read the target or amount-to-add setting in the controlling app.
- Check any charge limit actually fitted to the car and the saved schedule.
- If the request is unfinished, try a normal immediate session where your provider permits it, checking its cost first.
A top-up is not a final target
An app asking how much to add may not know the car’s live battery level. Read its wording before changing the request. AC and DC sessions use different charging paths, so compare another suitable AC session when investigating home AC charging.
If that did not work
If the charger ended the request early, ask its provider to check the target and session log. If your car repeatedly ends normally authorised sessions below the requested level on suitable equipment, give BYD the messages and ask for charging fault-history and limit-setting checks.
What to note down for support: Starting and finishing percentage, target wording, AC/DC, delivered kWh and the end or pause message are useful for this fault.
