BYD Europe FAQ · operation-password recovery · checked 8 October 2026
Open sourceThe operation password protects remote controls such as locking and unlocking. BYD says you normally create it when first using those controls. If you have forgotten it, use the official app recovery option rather than sharing account details or repeatedly guessing. This guide was checked against BYD’s published FAQ on 8 October 2026; app labels may change.
Where is the reset option?
BYD’s published route is My Account → Settings → Remote Control Verification → Change Operation Password. Select Forgot your password on the final screen and follow the app’s recovery prompts. Labels may change with app updates.
Which problem are you trying to solve?
Record whether the error appears when signing in, pairing the vehicle or sending a remote command. Do not treat all three as the same fault. If the screen does not match this guide, keep its exact error wording and your app version for a private support enquiry.
How do I recover access safely?
Use the official app. Do not post passwords, verification codes, pairing QR codes or screenshots containing account details in an owner group. Keep a physical key available; recovering app access is not a substitute for a working vehicle key. Never use a factory reset as a password-recovery shortcut.
