OWNER ANSWER
Does paying to charge your BYD cover parking and overstay fees?
Paying for charging does not automatically pay for parking. Check the car-park signs and the charging provider’s conditions separately, then return within whichever limit comes first.

- Read the entrance and bay signs for the maximum stay, payment and vehicle-registration requirements.
- Check the charging service’s price and idle or overstay terms.
- Find when each time limit starts: arrival, charging start or charging completion.
- Pay for parking or enter the registration if the site requires it.
- Set a reminder for the stricter limit and check the session’s progress.
- End the session and leave the bay within the site’s conditions.
No idle fee does not mean free parking
Osprey’s checked pricing page has no idle or overstay fee, but some locations have their own parking rules. InstaVolt also says local parking enforcement can apply.
A simple example
If a hypothetical car park allows 90 minutes from entry, another 20 minutes shown on the charging screen does not extend the visit. Moving between chargers may still count as the same visit.
If that did not work
For a disputed fee or notice, contact whoever issued it: the charging service for its charge, or the parking operator for its notice. Use the issuer’s query or appeal process promptly with the signs, visit times and receipts. A charger fault does not itself extend parking permission.
What to note down for support: For a dispute, keep charging and parking receipts separately, along with the relevant signs and arrival/departure times.
