DOLPHIN wiper service position and blade care

On DOLPHIN, use Infotainment settings → Service → Overhaul → Front wiper check to move the front wipers into the maintenance position before lifting them. Wait until movement stops, then support each arm while cleaning or handling the fitted blade.

Illustration for BYD DOLPHIN wiper service position and blade care.
  1. Park, select P, keep the bonnet closed and switch automatic wiping off.
  2. Clear loose snow and let frozen blades thaw.
  3. Open Infotainment settings → Service → Overhaul → Front wiper check using the matching handbook and screen labels.
  4. Wait until the arms stop in the accessible maintenance position.
  5. Grasp the upper end of the arm and lift carefully. Safety note: Keep the bonnet closed and support each raised arm so it cannot spring onto the glass. Keep hands clear of moving wipers; use an ice scraper rather than the blades to clear ice, and drive only with visibility and working equipment suitable for the conditions.
  6. After work, check each blade is secure and lower the arms gently.
  7. Leave maintenance mode using the matching control and test the washer and wipers while parked on suitably wet glass.

Which instructions apply?

The documented front maintenance control is on PDF 182, with blade care on PDF 181. For the rear blade, use the separate illustrated DOLPHIN fitting procedure rather than a front-blade release.

If you are replacing a blade

Match the actual attachment to the illustration for that blade and model. If the fitting is unclear, a qualified repairer can fit it without forcing the arm or connector.

If that did not work

If the expected DOLPHIN control is absent, the arm meets resistance or the system has abnormal travel, ask BYD for the matching maintenance-mode and arm-parking check. If thawed, unobstructed wipers still fail, have the fault inspected rather than treating maintenance mode as a reset.
