Protect people first

If anyone is locked inside, the car is obstructing traffic, or there is smoke, heat, water exposure or a high-voltage warning, contact emergency or roadside assistance immediately. Do not touch damaged orange high-voltage cables or components.

Record what still responds

  1. Try the spare key if it is available and check whether the key indicator responds.
  2. Note whether exterior lights, door-handle controls, the app or any display responds.
  3. Use the mechanical key only as described in the DOLPHIN manual; opening the door does not prove the vehicle is safe to drive.
  4. Record the traction-battery percentage last seen and whether the car was charging.

Do not improvise a battery connection

The low-voltage system and high-voltage traction battery are different. Do not attach a booster, charger or another vehicle unless the exact owner-manual procedure is understood and the equipment is suitable. Incorrect connections can cause injury or vehicle damage.

Arrange diagnosis

Call BYD Assistance or an authorised repairer and describe the complete symptom. If professional assistance restores power, ask for the low-voltage battery and charging system to be tested rather than assuming the incident is solved. Repeated loss of power requires investigation.
