BYD DOLPHIN tyre-pressure warning: what to check
Handbook-checked DOLPHIN tyre-warning guidance: persistent lights, pressure and temperature readings, monitoring messages and safe next steps.

A tyre-pressure light that stays on is a reason to check the tyre and the complete display, not simply look for a reset button. This guide follows the reviewed BYD DOLPHIN right-hand-drive handbook. It separates a pressure reading, a temperature warning and a monitoring-system message; it cannot diagnose the cause from the light alone.
- While safely parked, record the exact message, which wheel is identified, the displayed pressure and temperature, and whether the light is steady or first flashed. Do not handle the screen or phone while driving.
- Check the actual tyre condition. Use the pressure specification for your exact vehicle and load, not a value copied from another BYD. If pressure falls again, arrange inspection for a leak instead of repeatedly trying to clear the warning.
- Keep a pressure problem separate from a missing reading or monitoring-system message. Give persistent warnings and the recorded details to a BYD authorised dealer or service provider. Do not dismantle sensors or use a generic reset recipe.
What if the tyre-pressure warning stays on?
Park safely and check the actual tyre and the full display. A continuing warning can concern low pressure, tyre temperature or the monitoring system; the light alone does not establish which. In the reviewed DOLPHIN handbook, a steady warning with a yellow pressure value identifies under-pressure. A yellow temperature value identifies excessive tyre temperature instead. Read the full display rather than treating every yellow value as the same fault. For low pressure, the handbook directs a check for a slow leak and correction to the specified pressure. For excessive temperature, stop and let the tyre cool before further driving; a separate pressure or damage problem still needs attention. Do not treat a persistent light as something to hide with a reset. If the condition is unresolved, arrange appropriate tyre or BYD inspection and follow the safety notice above.
What do the DOLPHIN monitoring-system messages mean?
For DOLPHIN, the reviewed handbook distinguishes a warning with “Please check TPMS” and a missing value shown as dashes, or a location showing “No Signal”, from a low-pressure reading. Flashing followed by a steady light with a system message is not proof that adding air will fix it. Capture the exact message and ask a BYD authorised dealer or service provider about a persistent alarm. A missing signal does not prove that the tyre is safe.
Can I keep driving until the tyre display updates?
Do not rely on that. The handbook explains that tyre information is sent at intervals, so a sudden pressure loss or a damaged tyre may not be reported immediately. If damage or a flat tyre is suspected, stop instead of waiting for an alarm. Tyre pressure must meet the manufacturer’s requirements before driving. A normal-looking or missing reading does not establish the condition of the actual tyre.
What if the problem started after tyre or wheel work?
Tell the service provider exactly what was changed or rotated. The DOLPHIN handbook directs relevant monitoring-system matching or reset work to a BYD authorised dealer or service provider. That is not a universal owner-operated button sequence. Sensor installation can affect tyre airtightness, so do not loosen or replace a monitoring module yourself.
What should I give support if the warning continues?
Keep the vehicle model and handbook edition, exact warning message, affected wheel, measured pressure and displayed pressure, any temperature warning, and the timing of recent wheel or tyre work. Say whether the light flashed before staying on. Share personal identifiers privately only when official support needs them; redact VIN, registration and account details from public screenshots.
