DOLPHIN puncture and tyre-repair kit guide
For a suitable small tread puncture on your DOLPHIN, the supplied sealant kit may get you to a tyre repairer. Start by parking clear of traffic and checking the damage, then use the initial inflation and later pressure checks below; they are different stages.
- Park on firm, level ground, select Park and apply the parking brake.
- Get passengers clear of moving traffic and switch on the hazard lights.
- Inspect the tyre and wheel from outside before taking the kit out. Use the kit only for minor damage allowed by its label; a damaged wheel needs assistance. Safety note: Flat tyres or damaged wheels can affect control: use assistance for these or an unsafe roadside position. Sealant is flammable and harmful; keep it away from ignition and children, avoid skin/eye contact and vapour, and follow its container instructions.
- Check the sealant expiry date and follow the connections shown on your actual inflator and sealant labels.
- With the inflator switched off, connect its power lead to the vehicle’s 12V socket if required by the kit.
- Start the vehicle as directed by this handbook, then switch on the connected inflator.
- Watch the gauge: if pressure has not reached 1.8 bar (180 kPa) within 10 minutes, switch off and call assistance. Limit continuous inflator operation to 10 minutes.
- If the pressure reaches 1.8–3.2 bar and the damage and kit checks permit driving, remove the kit and begin the sealant-distribution drive within one minute. Keep below 80 km/h (the handbook also states a 50 mph maximum), for no more than 10 km, avoiding hard acceleration and sharp, fast turns.
- Stop and measure the repaired tyre again using the inflator gauge.
- Use the recheck result: below 1.3 bar means assistance; 1.3–2.2 bar means repeat the handbook’s sealant/inflation process; above 2.2 bar means a journey only to the nearest service centre, below 80 km/h (the handbook also states a 50 mph maximum) and any lower road or product limit.
- Tell the tyre professional that sealant was used and replace the used sealant. The DOLPHIN handbook also recommends replacing the inflation hoses.

These pressure stages are from the DOLPHIN July 2025 RHD EN_V2 handbook linked below. Keep the fitted kit’s labels alongside them. The figures are temporary-repair decisions, not the normal cold tyre pressures.
If that did not work
If the tyre cannot meet the stated pressure checks, loses pressure again or the damage is unsuitable, use roadside assistance. Strong vibration, unstable handling or abnormal noise means stop safely and arrange recovery instead of continuing to distribute the sealant.
What to note down for support: For assistance, give your location, model, affected tyre, measured pressure and whether sealant was used.
