ATTO 3 EVO says key not detected
If your ATTO 3 EVO does not recognise its key, move the fob away from your phone and try the spare. If electronic unlocking fails, the handbook provides a mechanical driver-door key; use the matching handle and lock shown below.

- Separate the authorised key from phones, metal cases and other keys.
- Try its unlock button close to the driver’s door.
- Try the supplied spare if available.
- If electronic entry fails and your fob/handle match the handbook, use this entry method: Press the fob’s PUSH control and withdraw the mechanical key as illustrated. Insert it in the driver-door keyhole, turn clockwise to unlock, remove it and pull the handle. Safety note: Keep the key with you and nobody locked inside. Match the mechanical-key diagram before turning a lock; force can damage it. Keep loose coin batteries away from children.
- Once inside, keep the valid key in the cabin and use the normal brake-and-start sequence.
NFC and phone keys
Use the EVO’s actual marked reader and supported method. Use the EVO starting controls rather than the original ATTO 3 procedure. A working app does not activate an unsupported wallet key.
Weak fob indicator
A dim or unlit indicator can accompany a depleted key battery. The cited handbook recommends BYD inspection or battery-change help; if the spare works, ask for the first fob to be checked.
If that did not work
If the car opens but still shows a key warning, use its documented recognition procedure or ask BYD to check key recognition. If neither key works or lights/locks are also unavailable, use the model-specific unresponsive-car guide and assistance.
What to note down for support: The failed key method, spare result, warning and remaining lights/display response are enough to start the call.
