ATTO 3 EVO charge-port door frozen or difficult to open
For a frozen ATTO 3 EVO charge-port door, unlock the car and let visible ice thaw gradually before trying the normal opening action again. Dry the outside first; a flap that still clicks but remains locked after thawing needs a latch check.

- Park and confirm the car is unlocked and not actively charging. Safety note: A wet, iced or damaged inlet can make charging unsafe, so leave it disconnected. Force or concentrated heat can damage the flap and inlet; use gradual sheltered thawing instead of tools, boiling water or flame.
- Brush away loose snow and check the flap edge for visible ice or debris. Check for a trapped charging-cap tether.
- Let visible ice thaw gradually in a sheltered location.
- Dry the flap edge and surrounding bodywork.
- Unlock again and try the normal opening action once.
What the result tells you
Opening after gentle warming points to ice around the flap; inspect the seal. A flap that moves but remains locked, sits unevenly or stays shut without visible ice may have a latch, access or actuator fault.
If that did not work
Ask a BYD repairer to inspect the latch, actuator, hinge or seal if it remains stuck or misaligned. If the car itself will not unlock, check the authorised key and wider low-voltage symptoms separately. After charging, refit the cap, close the door and remove standing water before freezing weather where practical.
What to note down if you need support: visible ice, clicking sound, whether the flap moves after thawing and whether the car unlocks normally.
