BYD SEALION 7 washer-fluid warning stays on after refill

Check the simple causes first

1. Park on level ground, switch the vehicle off and allow it to settle.
2. Open the correct washer-fluid reservoir using the owner manual—not another model’s engine-bay diagram.
3. Use suitable screenwash and fill only to the documented level. Do not overfill.
4. Close the cap properly, clear any spill and complete one normal vehicle restart.
5. Operate the washers briefly to confirm fluid reaches the windscreen, then recheck the warning after a short drive.

What the result means

• Warning clears: continue monitoring for leakage or rapid fluid loss.
• Washers work but warning remains: the level reading or sensor may need diagnosis.
• No fluid reaches the glass: stop using the washers repeatedly; check for an empty reservoir, frozen fluid, visible leakage or a pump/system fault.
• Fluid level falls again: photograph any safe-to-observe leak and arrange inspection.

Do not manipulate the sensor

Do not strike the reservoir, insert tools, disconnect wiring or bypass the warning. The reservoir and level-sensing arrangement can vary by production date, and a warranty repair should preserve the original evidence.

Prepare a useful warranty report

Record the model year, delivery date, full software version, fluid used, amount added, whether the washers operate, when the warning first appeared and whether fluid is leaking. Include a photograph of the message with personal information hidden.
