Preserve the evidence

Photograph the battery percentage and exact vehicle and charger messages. Record whether the attempt used home AC, public AC or rapid DC charging and whether a target level or schedule was active.

Use safe isolation checks

  1. End the session correctly and inspect the connector and inlet without touching damaged or hot equipment.
  2. Check the vehicle’s charging target, reservation and AC current settings while parked.
  3. Try one other known-working compatible charger if it is safe and practical.
  4. Record whether AC and DC behave differently; do not repeatedly cycle a failing charger.

Who needs the evidence

If the vehicle charges elsewhere, give the failed session details to the original charge-point operator. If the same low-battery “complete” message occurs on multiple suitable chargers, contact BYD Assistance or an authorised repairer and provide the timeline.

Do not attempt unofficial repairs

Do not open charging equipment, alter wiring, fit unofficial components or install unapproved software. Stop charging and seek urgent help for heat, burning smells, visible damage, water ingress, a high-voltage warning or repeated charging-system faults.
