Do not depend on intervention
AEB can support the driver but does not guarantee detection or braking in every condition. Maintain attention, distance and control, and never test the system by approaching a person, vehicle or object.
Safe parked checks
- Photograph the exact message and note whether rain, glare, fog, snow, ice or road spray was present.
- Use the DOLPHIN manual to identify camera and radar areas; check only for obvious external obstruction.
- Clean glass and body surfaces using the normal care instructions. Do not dismantle, press or realign a sensor.
- Seek authorised diagnosis if the warning persists, repeatedly returns in clear conditions or follows an impact.

Settings and availability can vary by model year and software. A DOLPHIN SURF screen or instruction is not proof of the correct path for DOLPHIN.
After an AEB or collision-warning event
- Concentrate on the road and stop only where safe.
- Photograph the exact message after parking.
- Record speed, weather, road markings, traffic and whether braking or steering intervention occurred.
- Inspect only the manual-identified external sensing surfaces for obvious obstruction or damage.
- Do not recreate the event; arrange diagnosis if the warning persists or behaviour was unsafe.
How to interpret the outcome
- Unavailable only in severe weather: sensor visibility may have been limited; continue driving manually for conditions.
- Clears after safe cleaning: monitor it and retain the original evidence.
- Returns in clear conditions: software, alignment or hardware needs assessment.
- Appears after glass, bumper, suspension or collision repair: ask whether the exact model calibration procedure was completed.
Never use a person, vehicle, box or roadside object to test automatic braking.
