Name the system and event
“ADAS” covers several separate features. While safely parked, record whether the event involved lane support, adaptive cruise, speed-sign recognition, emergency braking or another named function. Note the road, markings, weather, speed and any warning shown.
Check the safe basics
- Read the exact feature description and limitations in the current UK manual.
- Keep cameras, radar areas and the windscreen clean and unobstructed.
- Check that tyres have suitable pressure and that no warning light is present.
- Review the enabled assistance settings while parked; software updates can alter menus or restore preferences.
Intervene normally
If assistance does not match the road situation, take control smoothly and safely. Do not deliberately recreate hard braking, steering movement or another hazardous event for a video or test.
Report repeatable behaviour
Save the time, location, full vehicle software version and any dashcam evidence that can be shared lawfully. Ask an authorised BYD repairer to check sensor alignment, warnings and applicable software. A persistent safety-system warning or repeated dangerous intervention needs prompt professional assessment.
