ATTO 2 keyless entry not unlocking? Safe checks

Practical checks when an ATTO 2 will not unlock by proximity, handle request or key button.

Identify which method failed

  1. Try the key buttons from close range.
  2. Try the NFC card only at the position shown in the ATTO 2 manual.
  3. Check whether the BYD app can still see the vehicle; do not repeatedly send commands.
  4. Move other electronic devices away from the key and retry once.

If the car remains locked

A weak key battery, discharged vehicle 12V battery or access-system fault needs different action. Use the mechanical access procedure in the manual only as written. Do not prise trim or force a handle.

When to seek help

If both keys fail, the vehicle appears electrically dead or the alarm/access warning persists, use BYD roadside assistance or an authorised repairer.

Step-by-step access diagnosis

  1. Stand beside the vehicle and test one physical key while keeping the other key and phone away.
  2. Test the physical key buttons, then the documented backup detection position.
  3. If available, repeat with the spare physical key.
  4. Only after physical-key testing, check NFC or phone access separately.
  5. Record exactly which method works and whether the vehicle shows any lights or message.

What the result means

  • Spare key works: replace or inspect the first key battery and keep that key out of service until reliable.
  • Backup position works: radio detection or key battery is a more likely focus than total vehicle power loss.
  • Phone/NFC works but both fobs fail: investigate physical keys and receiver rather than deleting digital access.
  • No method and no vehicle response: a low-voltage or vehicle fault needs roadside assistance.
