ATTO 2 guidance: Do not transfer a hidden-release method from another BYD model. If the charging flap resists normal pressure, stop before the lock or painted edge is damaged.

Safe thawing sequence

1. Park securely, switch the vehicle off and unlock it normally.
2. Brush loose snow away with a soft tool without levering the flap.
3. Check for visible ice around the flap edge and stop repeatedly pressing or pulling against the lock.
4. Warm the area gradually in a sheltered location or with comfortably warm—not boiling—water.
5. Dry the flap and surrounding bodywork, unlock once more and try the normal opening action.

What the result means

• It opens after gentle warming: dry the area and inspect the seal before charging.
• It moves but the lock remains engaged: stop; forcing it can damage the mechanism.
• No ice is visible and it remains shut: an access or actuator fault may need inspection.
• The inlet is wet, iced or damaged: do not connect charging equipment.

After charging, refit the cap correctly, close the door and remove standing water before freezing weather where practical. Never use a sharp tool, naked flame, heat gun or boiling water.
